#TheFastFive Junior Program Highlights of 2018

It’s been said that “every summer has a story,” and as summer 2018 is fast approaching, it makes us wonder: what kind of story will you write? The variety of junior programs offered by ILSC allows you to make sure your story is memorable, interesting, and one you’ll want to read again and again. As the temperature goes up and the windows roll down, we are rounding up #TheFastFive things you can look forward to this year at our ILSC Junior Programs.

The Family That Learns Together…

Junior Family Camp at ILSC-Vancouver

What says summer more than a good old-fashioned family vacation? Well this year, you can put a twist on a classic. Our Family Camp at ILSC-Vancouver offers families the opportunity to live, learn and explore together, in a world-class city. Classes take place at our downtown ILSC campus locations and children study with other children, while parents and guardians study with our other adult students. You’ll learn from your instructors, and also benefit from a culturally rich experience with the multicultural nature of our family program – it’s a diverse intake this year with already over 7 different nationalities confirmed for our 2018 Family camp! After class, you and your family will have the chance to make some more memories with the three planned activities per week. See some wildlife at the Vancouver Aquarium, learn about chemistry at Science World or just enjoy some family time exploring this picture-perfect city. Check out this video to see what a day in the life of Family Camp is like!

Building Bridges

Students in ESL-Bridge Program

ILSC’s ESL-High School Bridge Program is a unique and academic-driven program that provides specially designed English curriculum for young learners aged 12-17. The program also offers a great first step for students wanting to improve their English language skills before entering a Canadian secondary or high school and is offered in two great locations: Vancouver and Toronto. An added bonus this year? We’re offering the program in Toronto year-round, meaning students can book their classes right up to the Fall 2018 high school intake (and beyond!) in order to start in January 2019. We recently spoke to Sammi, a former student of the ESL bridge program, and here’s what she had to say about how it helped her get to where she is now!

Check, mate!

Studying English as a family at ILSC

To help you write your summer story, we wanted to make sure it was easier than ever. That’s why ILSC has introduced the new availability calendar, which allows you to check and see which ILSC Junior Program is full, available, or has limited space, for easy planning. With the ever-growing popularity of our junior summer program, this convenient tool will help you check both where programs are available and when they run, so you can plan how to have your best summer yet!

Summer of Style

ILSC Junior Program swag for 2018

Being in a new country, surrounded by a new culture, it only make sense that you have some new swag too. Each year ILSC designs a new t-shirt, water bottle and other gear, to make sure that you are looking your best while having an unforgettable experience. This year, we have created a vibrant, 90’s inspired theme that will let you stand out, identify fellow campers, and remind you how you can share all of the memories you capture during your summer adventure (be sure to check out #myilsc on Instagram!)

Putting the “U” into University

A junior student on university residence

Another exciting option for our 2018 Junior Program is our Junior Camps at our University Campus Residences. This unique program gives students the chance to experience the “university life” while staying on a Canadian university residence at the University of Toronto or, brand new in 2018, McGill University, MacDonald campus in Montréal! In addition to living and learning with international students from around the globe, students will have support staff available to them 24/7. This exciting learning experience is complemented by fascinating afternoon, evening and weekend activities both on and off campus. That’s what we call the perfect equation for the summer of a lifetime! Stay tuned to the blog to discover even more about what other awesome experiences these two University Campus Residences offer.

We’ve listed #TheFastFive highlights of what’s to come this year at our junior camps, but the list goes on and on. Between the exceptional education, dedicated staff, international friendships and countless adventures, we think you may just have a “best seller”. Every summer does have a story – let ILSC Junior Camps help you write yours.
